December 16-Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandez wrote on social media to bid farewell to Portugal coach Santos, who has just left office. The full text is as follows:
Thank you very much, Mr. Fernando Santos. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent our country and for your trust in us over the past few years. As a Portuguese, thank you for putting Portugal at the top of Europe and regaining the confidence and belief that this “small” country may become one of the “big”. Moments of glory and joy, as well as moments of sadness and frustration, but history has been made and will always be remembered in the hearts of all Portuguese.
