According to German media Bild, Bayern Munich chess player Amin Tabatabaei refused to play against the Israeli Netanel Levi in Barcelona, so his opponent won without a fight.
Bild said it was not clear to what extent the contestants themselves supported the action or whether it was abetted behind it. Bayern Munich have not commented on the matter. Amin Tabatabaei has been playing for Bayern Munich since this fall, but he played in Spain as a national team player.
