Stanciu: Halfway through the season, I had a hunch that we would win the championship, and we have no plans for where to go next

January 1, in an exclusive interview with the Romanian media "Playsport", helped the three towns of Wuhan win the Chinese Super League
Stanciu, the league champion, introduced his various feelings of playing in China.
——What kind of season is this?
Most difficult or most unexpected?
For a club founded in 2016, it is indeed unbelievable to be promoted consecutively.
I came here in 2022 and I gave everything to win the championship. This is definitely one of the most difficult seasons of my career.
——When did you really start to feel that you could become a champion?
When the season was halfway through, we became the only unbeaten team in the Super League, so I think it is entirely possible to win the championship, it all depends on us.
We think we can make history for the city of Wuhan. This is also the first championship title for the city of Wuhan since the establishment of the Chinese Super League.
—Who do you especially want to dedicate this championship to?
Everything I do is for my family.
So, of course I want to dedicate the title to my wife and daughter.
——How do you feel about being the only Romanian player to win championships in 4 different national leagues?
To be honest, I never thought I would be able to achieve this.
I am very proud. Although I have created such a result, I will not stop my pace. Although I know how difficult it is to win the championship, and how much effort is required behind each championship… ——Only 39 in history
players have won league titles in four countries and you are now tied with Rivaldo, Mandzukic, Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
How difficult is it to successfully adapt to the different styles of leagues in different countries?
What is the secret to your success?
I can’t compare myself to these names you’ve mentioned, but I’m honored to be among them.
Adapting very quickly to what the coach asks, understanding football in a local way, that’s how I’ve come to achieve it, and it helps me to contribute as much and as quickly as possible to the team.
My secret is to work hard, simple but hard secret!
——What do you think you did this season that made you a better player?
I didn’t do anything different, I was still the same.
But in every game in China, I was basically the player with the longest running distance on the team.
I’ve been focused on helping my team and my teammates, not just talking about it.
I always hope that there will be no regrets after the game, so I will go all out in every game, and the data is also a true reflection of my efforts.
——Thousands of miles away from home, what do you miss the most?
Of course it was my family, I missed a lot of time with my family.
I miss my wife, daughter, parents, siblings, and many close friends.
——What is the next plan?
After the awards ceremony, all I wanted was to go home and be with my family, to be together as long as possible, and that’s what I wanted most.
——You won the championship in your first season in China, will you look for other challenges?
I don’t shy away from the topic, but it’s too early to talk about anything else.
All I can think about right now is go home, be with my family, and see what happens next.
—Should we expect you to return to Europe?
Because the 2024 European Cup qualifiers will start in March.
As for future moves, I really don’t know anything right now, and I can’t lie about that.
